Course I - Class Buttercream Icing
Stiff Consistency

1 cup Solid White Vegetable Shortening (Crisco)

1 teaspoon Wilton Clear Flavoring (Vanilla, Butter, Almond)

7 teaspoons Milk or Water

1 lb. (1 box) Pure Cane Confestioners Sugar (10-X/ Powdered Sugar)

1 Tablespoon Wilton Meringue Powder

Pince of Salt (optional)
Cream shortening, flavoring and water/milk until blended and no lumps remain. Slowly add dry ingredients mixing by hand until blended (it will be crumbly). Mix at medium speed until thoroughly blended. Blend 1 additional minute for creamier texture.
Medium (spreading) Consistency Icing
Add up to 2 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk.
Thin (spreading) Consistency Icing
Add up to 4 tablespoons light corn syrup, water or milk.
